Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors: the central organization for all qualified quantity surveyors and construction estimators in Canada. All regional organizations, like AQSA, are members of CIQS. The following are links to the two affiliated associations which currently have web sites:
- PAQS - The Association of Quantity surveyors (PAQS) is an international association of national organizations representing Quantity Surveyors in the Asia and Western Pacific region.
- ICEC - The International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC) is a national and multinational cost engineering, quantity surveying and project management organization with over 100,000 cost engineers and project managers in more than 120 nations.
- AACE International: the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering. An organization which promotes Total Cost Management in all industries, from construction through aerospace to chemical and petroleum processing.
- CSC: Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) pursues the study of systems and procedures which will improve the coordination and dissemination of information relevant to the construction process. An organization which seeks to enhance the quality of the design and management aspects of construction activity through education and professional development and certification programs, believing that by so doing can best contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the industry as a whole.
- Statistics Canada: a useful site for obtaining up-to-date information on anything, but especially on the economic factors which affect the health of the construction industry.
- Construction Innovation Forum: an international, non-profit organization formed in 1987 to recognize innovations in the construction industry that improve the quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness of construction.
- R.S. Means Company, Inc.: R.S. Means is North America's leading provider of construction cost information products and services.
- SAVE International: a professional society, based in the United States devoted to the advancement and promotion of Value Engineering (VE) in the management of business and government.
- Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors: this United Kingdom-based organization, with over 100,000 members, is the oldest one governing and promoting the activities of surveyors of all kinds world-wide.
- Alberta Economic Development: this is a useful page to visit to get an understanding of the drivers of the Alberta economy.
- Industry Canada: the web site of the Government of Canada's Industry Department.
- Australian Cost Planners : Independent Australian Cost Management and Quantity Surveyors. Expertise includes quantity surveyors, cost planners, construction cost estimating, property cost management, auditing, insurance valuations and risk analysis. Their Sydney based project managers offer professional consultancy services.
